Recycling
Done Right

Recycling Uniforms presents formidable challenges, requiring meticulous planning, high textile expertise and precise logistical coordination at every step. This is why entrusting the task to a highly skilled and proven Uniform Provider is essential.

Pre-consumer
X Post-consumer

Start by examining whether the provider recycles pre-consumer or post-consumer waste, as each requires distinct recycling methods and will yield different outcomes for your company.

While many suppliers boast about recycling fibers, they often limit their efforts to pre-consumer waste. However, genuine reductions in environmental impact come from recycling post-consumer materials.

This process is significantly more complex and demands specialized expertise. This is where SKYPRO truly shines.

SCROLL DOWN

Consumer Waste

Insufficient

Pre-Consumer recycling

Pre-Consumer waste comes from processing and manufacturing operations (e.g. fiber production, raw material processing, etc…).

Many suppliers offer global recycling at the pre-consumption stage.

Be aware: Pre-consumer waste recycling is not enough to help you achieve your sustainability goals.

The real Deal

Post-Consumer recycling

Post-Consumer waste comes fromproducts end use.

Suppliers do not offer this recycling due to its complexity, that requires technical expertise, value chain control and precise logistics.

Recycling post-consumer waste is what truly reduces carbon and environmental footprint.

Garments Recycling

Your Old Uniforms.
New Possibilities.

SKYPRO is revolutionizing the Uniform Industry by turning discarded apparel into valuable new materials. Our advanced Garment Recycling technology offers a sustainable solution to textile waste, reducing your environmental footprint and contributing to a circular economy.

Specializing in Blended Textiles

SKYPRO’s expertise lies in processing blended fabrics like cotton/polyester and wool/polyester. We’ve mastered the art of separating and recycling these complex materials, ensuring maximum efficiency and value recovery.

A Sustainable Mechanical Process

Our cutting-edge mechanical recycling processes offer a significant environmental advantage over traditional methods. By reducing CO2 emissions by up to 90% across all fiber types, SKYPRO is leading the way in sustainable textile recycling.

Garments Recycling How Does It Work?

Garment Collection

Collecting old Uniforms is the first step in recycling but requires a tailored approach for each customer. SKYPRO leads in this area by using mySKYPRO to make custom plans for each client, and suggest different places where people can drop off their clothes – for example, at the employees’ company or at special drop-off spots around cities. We also prioritize carbon footprint assessments to minimize environmental impact.

Type Sorting

Effective Uniform recycling depends on accurate sorting by fiber composition. Traditional manual sorting is labor-intensive and error-prone. SKYPRO addresses this with Automated Textile Sorting Technology, using near-infrared (NIR) scanning and optical sensors to quickly and accurately sort garments, enhancing recycling efficiency and reducing environmental impact.

Clothing Disassembling

Once sorted, Uniforms are disassembled to separate recyclable fabrics from non-recyclable elements like zippers and buttons. SKYPRO’s semi-automatic process ensures minimal contamination and maximizes recyclability. Our Eco-Uniforms are designed for easy disassembly, and we’re exploring heat-dissolvable stitching technology for faster, more efficient disassembly at scale.

Textile Shredding

Shredding breaks down disassembled textiles into smaller pieces for fiber recycling. Challenges like mixed fibers and non-textile materials make this process complex. SKYPRO has developed a unique approach to overcome these hurdles, integrating production and waste management across the textile value chain.

Spinning

Spinning recycled fibers determines whether they are upcycled or downcycled into lower-value products. SKYPRO conducts detailed analysis and pilot testing to ensure optimal upcycling outcomes, particularly for clients with over 1,000 employees, maximizing impact on reducing textile waste.

Weaving/Knitting

The final step is weaving or knitting recycled yarns into new garments. Recycled yarns can be less consistent than virgin fibers, so SKYPRO focuses on selecting the best yarns and innovating methods to produce high-quality fabrics with a high percentage of recycled content, driving sustainability in the clothing industry.

Through these five processes, SKYPRO ensures that Uniforms are recycled in a sustainable and eco-friendly way, minimizing waste and reducing environmental footprint.
